Jeevan Ashram Sanstha (JAS), registered under the Rajasthan Society Registration Act, of 1958, is a non-profit organization based in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. Since its inception in 2009, JAS has endeavored to extend a helping hand to the community especially women and children in difficult circumstances.
JAS was founded on November 26, 2009, by a group of young professionals driven by a deep social concern for disadvantaged groups. The organization’s community work began with the support of like-minded friends who sought to promote change that upholds individuals' basic rights. These enthusiastic young professionals at JAS dedicate their time and energy to advancing the organization's mission. Our efforts focus on education, health, raising awareness, community mobilization, and collective action to drive social change. At present, we empower girls through education, life skills development, and vocational training.
At JAS, we collectively believe that everyone deserves a life of dignity. It is a well-known fact that women and girls living in difficult circumstances are considered secondary in most of the spheres of development and are more exploited and vulnerable. Thus, we have been focusing our interventions to improve the lives of this group.
The organization is accredited with FCRA since October14, 2013 and 12 AA and 80G since February16, 2016.
JAS is currently operational in Jaipur, Dungarpur and Ajmer districts of Rajasthan.
JAS focuses on the following issues
To create a society where women, men and children enjoy a life of dignity without biases of sex, age, caste, class, colour, gender or sexual orientation.
To provide opportunities to people facing inequality and injustice and strengthen communities to bring about a positive change in their lives so that they can become self-sufficient and move towards an equal and just society. We work in the areas of health, education, child rights, gender equality and social equality.
To make people aware and self-reliant in the sector of health, education, environment and local self-governance.
